FUJAIRAH, UAE (Apr 22, 2025) - More than 800 talented young athletes will star at the 7th World Taekwondo Cadet Championships, taking place in Fujairah, UAE from May 10-14.
Since its inaugural edition in 2014, the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships has provided an important platform for athletes aged between 12-14 to experience a large-scale global event, develop their skills and compete for medals.
It serves as the starting point for many of the Taekwondo stars of the future, and Fujairah 2025 is set to be the biggest edition since the first World Taekwondo Cadet Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
A total of 813 athletes and 467 officials have registered for the five-day event from 90 Member National Associations, the World Taekwondo Refugee Team, Individual Neutral Athletes and athletes competing under the World Taekwondo flag.
Fujairah 2025 World Taekwondo Cadet Championships will be held across 10 weight categories for male and female athletes at the Zayed Sports Complex, ranging from under-33kg to over-65kg in the men’s competition and under-29kg to over-59kg in the women’s.
World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue looked forward to the event with great anticipation.

“This is testament to the continued global development of Taekwondo, and we are looking forward to a spectacular competition which unites our global community.”
The World Taekwondo Council will also hold an Extraordinary Meeting on May 9 prior to the start of competition. This will include the allocation of multiple future World Taekwondo events, including the 2025 World Para Taekwondo Championships, 2025 World Para Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, 2026 World Taekwondo Junior Championships and 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships.
