World Taekwondo issues Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement on the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

In a diverse world, unity and inclusivity are not just lofty ideals—they're essential principles that guide our actions and shape our communities. As World Taekwondo embarks on its mission to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), it's imperative to underscore why such a commitment is vital.

Taekwondo transcends borders, reaching individuals from all walks of life. Yet, in this rich tapestry of humanity, disparities persist, and biases linger. By affirming its dedication to fostering a culture of acceptance and opportunity, World Taekwondo acknowledges the need for change.

Dr. Chungwon Choue, president of World Taekwondo, said: “This DEI Statement serves as a reminder—a call to recognise the significance of our collective action. Together, we'll strive to ensure that our sport becomes not just a symbol of athletic excellence, but a beacon of progress and inclusion for generations to come.”
