MUJU, Korea (Oct 4, 2022) - The “2nd Jeollabuk-do Sport Taekwondo International Convergence Conference” under the theme of ‘One World, One Sport Taekwondo’ today began with a spectacular opening ceremony in Taekwondowon in Muju, Korea. This international conference is hosted by World Taekwondo and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Jeollabuk-do Province, Muju-gun, and will last for three days until October 6.
The opening ceremony was attended by President of the African Taekwondo Union Issaka Ide, President of the Asia Taekwondo Union Kyu Seok Lee, President of the Oceania Taekwondo John Kotsifas, President of the Pan American Taekwondo Union Juan Manuel Lopez Delgado, President of the Spanish Taekwondo Federation Jesús Castellanos Pueblas, and President of the Croatian Taekwondo Federation Anto Nobilo.
President of World Taekwondo Chungwon Choue emphasized: “Through this second conference, I hope that the spirit of Taekwondo, which embraces each other’s differences and breaks down barriers of discrimination, can once again be elevated. I hope that all Taekwondoin will engrave in their hearts the core values of World Taekwondo, ‘Peace in Mind, Taekwondo at Heart’, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.”
This conference, which marks its second anniversary this year, is firmly established as a major international conference of World Taekwondo.
